Anuswar brings ‘Teen Kori’ at Mahila Samiti today

Theatre troupe Anuswar will stage the 10th show of its play ‘Teen Kori’ at the capital’s Nilima Ibrahim auditorium of the capital’s Bangladesh Mohila Samity at 7:15pm today.

The play written by Mahbub Alam is directed by Saif Suman. The play will portray the story of the problematic ideology that is spread by communalism.

‘Teen Kori’ depicts the story of Dighalkandi, a village in Bogra in East Bengal during the British India ruling period where many people of different religions live in Uttarpara and Dakshinpara of the village. The village is surrounded by some other villages including, Lohagara, Katlahar, Sonatala and others. Apart from the routine life, the villagers there live their life in joy and celebration with Baisakhi fair, fishing, singing and Kirtan sessions.

The story of ‘Teen Kori’ shows a village in East Bengal becoming imbalanced in the historical reality of the troubled times of partition.
