‘Murder, She Wrote’ famed Angela dies

Actress Dame Angela Lansbury died aged 96. The actress died at her home in Los Angeles at 1:30 am (LA time) in October 11.

“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday,” according to a statement from her family provided to NBC, whose parent company produced the long-running series.

She enjoyed an eclectic, award-winning movie and stage career in addition to becoming America’s favorite TV sleuth in “Murder, She Wrote,”

The three-time Oscar nominee had a career spanning eight decades, across film, theatre and television.

Born in 1925, she was one of the last surviving stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema.

Dame Angela died in her sleep just five days before her 97th birthday, her family said in a statement.

“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles,” the family said.

The actress accepted an honorary Oscar in 2013, she bagged five Tony Awards too. However she got 11 Emmy nominations for her role as Jessica Fletcher in “Murder, She Wrote,” but never won.
