Popular Bangladeshi actress Tasnia Farin recently came back to Bangladesh after completing the shooting for her first feature film ‘Aro Ek Prithibi’, directed by renowned Indian filmmaker Atanu Ghosh. The entire film was shot across 30 locations in London.
The film is inspired by Tamsen Courtenay’s popular book ‘Four Feet Under’. The plot revolves around four homeless people, looking for shelter.
The film also stars Kaushik Ganguly, Anindita Basu, Saheb Bhattacharya, and 12 other artistes from Pakistan, Ethiopia, Syria, Poland, Iran, and South Korea.
Farin said, “I played the role of Pratikkha in my first movie ‘Aro Ek Prithibi’. This film is the story of an eleven-year journey of waiting. In this film, Pratikkha searches for her true identity and looks for her true refuge. But whether the wait pays off in the end - can be seen after the release of the film. I am very satisfied with working on my first movie. the project went smoothly and everything happened according to plan.”
“Like Bangladesh, West Bengal’s cast and crew were also very cooperative. That’s why I never felt like I was working with an unknown unit. Atanu Dada is very clear about his work. What he wanted, what to do - everything was ready, I just played my character with my heart and I am looking forward to seeing Pratikkha on the big screen,” she added.
Farin got her big break in the Bangladeshi media industry through her role in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s Zee5 original web series ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ back in 2021. After that role, she received wide appreciation from viewers and acted in several OTT content. When asked about her debut in movies, the actress told the media multiple times that she is waiting for the right script. Even Ghosh decided to cast Farin after watching ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ released on ZEE5 Global. Ghosh told several media outlets that he was amazed by Farin’s performance and for his tenth project, he would like to cast her in ‘Aro Ek Prithibi.’
