Eminent Rabindra Sangeet singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 17th edition of the Oikko Channel i Music Awards on Tuesday evening.
The singer received the award from General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, chief of the Bangladesh Army.
Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Impress Telefilm Ltd and Channel i, handed over the certificate, while Shykh Seraj, director and head of news at Channel i, gave her the cheque for the prize money.
“I will remain forever grateful after receiving the award. This kind of award is always very pleasing. This time I’m honoured with life time achivement award. For this I will be grateful to everyone, especially the Almighty, to my parents, my audience, and students,” said Rezwana Choudhury Bannya.
Rezwana Choudhury Bannya also performed at the award ceremony.
The event took place at Sheikh Russel Cantonment near the west side of the Padma Bridge.
Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin, Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Abida Sultana, Naquib Khan, Kumar Bishwajit, Samina Chowdhury, Fahmida Nabi, Momtaz Begum, Manam Ahmed, Shama Rahman, Shafi Mondol, Anima Roy, Habib Wahid, Somnur Monir Konal, among others, performed in the evening too.
