Popular Bangladeshi theatre troupe Natya Teertha will stage its much-acclaimed production titled ‘Dwip’ today at 7pm at the Mahila Samiti in the capital’s Baily Road area.
The play is set to be staged on the fourth day of 11-day festival titled ‘Ganga-Jamuna Theatre and Cultural Festival 2022’. Scripted by Utpal Dutta and directed by Tapon Hafiz, the play is about the lack of human faith and ideology, and its serious consequences. The play depicts a theme that a man with his intelligence can deceive others, but he will be responsible to his own conscience. Thus, the man who has lost his principles is gradually hit by his conscience.
The cast of the play includes Tapon Hafiz, Sadia Islam Shanta, Shamsur Rahman, Mahmudur Rahman and Maruf Tomal among others.
Moreover, as part of the festival, three other plays titled ‘Khowabnama’ by theatre troupe Prachyanat, ‘Madhab Malonchi’ by Theatre Art Unit and ‘Bhimroti’ by Natyajoddha will be staged at the National Theatre Hall, Experimental Theatre Hall and Studio Theatre Hall of BSA respectively this evening.
