Commemorative event for Gazi Mazharul Anwar on Nov 7

To honour the renowned Bangladeshi musician, film director, producer, and lyricist, Gazi Mazharul Anwar, a commemorative event has been organised on November 7.

Organised by Tarana Sangskriti Bikash Kendra, the event will contain songs written by the legendary musician and he will be remembered by his family and artistes who were close to him.

The event will take place at Dr. Neelima Ibrahim auditorium at Bangladesh Mahila Samiti in the evening. Alhaj Elias Uddin Mollah MP will be present as the chief guest, while the wife of the late musician, Zohara Gazi will be present as a special guest at the event. The news has been confirmed by the daughter of the late musician, Dithi Anwar.

The event will start with a discussion programme, and after that, Anupama Mukti, Dithi Anwar, Atik Babu, Champa Banik, Apu Aman and Yusuf Ahmed will sing songs.

“It is a nice feeling that they are organising an event to remember my father. Our family shows our gratitude towards the organising committee Tarana Sangskriti Bikash Kendra. I believe the audience will enjoy the event, and I hope everyone will visit. I personally invite all to attend the programme,” said Dithi Anwar.

“I remember Gazi Mazharul Anwar with great respect. I pray to the Almighty to grant his soul peace. Along with that, I feel lucky to sing in such a programme. Thanks to the organizers for making this happen. I hope this will be an amazing evening to remember,” said Anupama Mukti.

The renowned Bangladeshi musician, film director, producer, and lyricist, Gazi Mazharul Anwar died on September 4 this year. His daughter and son took various initiatives, including the initiative to make an archive of his songs. 250 songs written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar are now available in the first edition of the book titled ‘Olpo kothar Golpo Gaan’ and we are planning to publish some more editions of the book.
