‘Nodi Rocks’ celebrated at Int’l Conference on Climate

Sharmin Sultana Sumi vocalist of Bangladeshi bang Chirkutt, participated for the first-time representing Bangladesh at the event, ‘Creative Climate Leadership-Scandinavia’. Representatives of various countries participated in the conference held on November 2 in Stockholm, Sweden. Taking part in this event, Sumi presented her ‘Nodi Rocks’ project which uses music as a tool to raise public awareness towards climate change.

This time, international leadership has joined the journey to play a vital role in creative ways to protect the climate. Her initiative, ‘Nodi Rocks’ has received great appreciation at the conference and Sumi is very excited about the project’s future.

Sumi said, “This was an opportunity to inform the world about our collective efforts from Bangladesh to protect the climate and rivers with ‘Nodi Rocks’. The initiative was applauded by everyone present there.”

Moreover, as Sumi stated, they were overwhelmed by seeing Bangladesh’s rivers and listening to the music of the country’s bands. Even the musicians of Scandinavian countries showed interest in participating at ‘Nodi Rocks’.

Sharmin Sultana Sumi is currently on a world tour to participate in two of the biggest music conferences in the world. After participating in the music conference ‘WOMEX’ held in Portugal, she is now staying in Norway to participate in the world-famous ‘Oslo World Music Festival. While participating in the conference, she visited the international climate-focused conference in Sweden.
