Bhabna to star in father’s film ‘Japito Jibon’

Bangladeshi actress Ashna Habib Bhabna is set to star in her father Habibul Islam Habib’s upcoming film ‘Japito Jibon.’ This will be the first time the actress will star in a movie directed by her filmmaker father.

Bhabna will play the central role of Anjum in this film adapted from Ekushey Padak-winning noted author Selina Hossain’s novel of the same name. Regarding ‘Japito Jibon,’ Bhabna said, “I have always consciously wanted not to work under my father’s direction. But I have finally changed my decision at the request of the cast members working on the film based on respected Selina Hossain’s novel. To be honest, it is very difficult for me to express my feelings about my father’s work. Still, I will say that since my father was a director, I did not have to face the struggle like many others in the industry who wanted to become an actress.”

“Also, when I started working professionally my father stopped working on a regular basis. But now I have to act in ‘Japito Jibon’ and hopefully, this will be a great project,” she added.

Renowned filmmaker Animesh Aich will act as the executive producer of the film.
