Lyricist Omar Farook Bishal passes away

Bangladeshi lyricist Omar Farook Bishal passed away after a tragic road accident in Narsingdi on Monday morning. The news of his death has been confirmed by fellow lyricist Robiul Islam Jibon, who shared a post on his official Facebook page.

Omar Farook Bishal was returning to Dhaka, on a motorcycle with his friend, when the accident took place. His friend Imam Hossain Sajal was critically injured.

Songwriter Bishal experienced a lot of praise for his lyrics in the songs ‘Alo Nei Alote’ sung by Minar Rahman, ‘Dukkhodol’ by Parvez Sazzad, ‘Parchi to Khub’ by Anupam Roy, ‘Tomar Bhalo Monde’ by Srikanta Acharya, Sabbir Nasir’s ‘Tumi Dome Dom’, ‘Adha’, and ‘Amare Diya Dilam Tomare’, Prottoy Khan’s ‘Aniyomer Niyome’, Arman Alif’s ‘Amar Amar Lage’, FA Sumon’s ‘Nili Na Re Khoj’.

Of the songs, ‘Amare Diya Dilam Tomare’ won the Channel i Digital Media Award 2020 in the first edition of the award ceremony. The song ‘Adha’ bagged the Global Music Award in September this year. Apart from the lyrics, ‘Adha’ has its composition done by Bishal.
