Popular Bangladeshi actress Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, who is currently passing the happiest time in her career, is turning another year old today. The actress celebrated her special day by cutting a cake at the very first hour of the day with her family members.
“Life has just begun. Everything I’ve achieved in this short period of life is by the grace of the Almighty. So I always remember and pray to the Almighty before I start any work. Starting from Lux Channel i Superstar, till now I’ve become an actress, won the National Film award, became ambassador of the UNICEF and mostly the honours my parent received because of me, everything is a big achievement for me. I am very happy and satisfied. The love from the audience makes me more inspired too,” said Mim.
However, the actress will not be in Dhaka for her birthday as she has left for Chattogram this morning to attend the 6th anniversary of a beauty lounge there.
Her film ‘Poran’ has become a major box-office success. Her recent film ‘Damal’ is also receiving a great response from the audience. Her film ‘Ittefaq’ and ‘Antarjal’ are in the pipeline to release.
The actress tied the knot in January this year with banker Sony Poddar.
Model and actress Mim started her career by winning the crown of Lux Channel i Superstar in 2007. After her beauty pageant win, she made her film debut as the lead cast of Humayun Ahmed’s feature film ‘Amar Ache Jol’ in 2008. That role kick-started her career as an actor and she starred in several hit TV dramas in the same year.
The very next year she played the role of Priyanka alongside Shakib Khan in her second film ‘Amar Praner Priya’ directed by Zakir Hossain Raju. It also became a big hit and Mim kept regularly working in TV dramas and films till today. She also kept working with major brands too.
Mim took a break from acting from 2012 to 2013 and returned to the silver screen with Khalid Mahmud Mithu’s ‘Jonakir Alo’ which got her the first National Film Award.
After that, she had the opportunity to work on several Indian films and acted opposite stars like Soham Chakraborty, Prasenjit Chatterjee and Jeet. After the pandemic subsided, she starred in ‘Poran’ which became a blockbuster hit in both Bangladesh and abroad.
Mim’s upcoming project is Dipankar Dipon cyber-thriller ‘Antarjal’ with co-star Siam Ahmed. She will play the role of a cyber security officer of Bangladesh Government’s e-Government Computer Incident Response Team (BGD e-GOV CIRT). The film is scheduled to hit local theatres next year.
