The solo art exhibition of Artist Nagarbasi Barman titled ‘Paintings & Graphics’ will be starting from tomorrow at the Galleri Kaya.
The inauguration programme will start at 5:30 pm at the gallery premises on November 11.
Syed Gousul Alam Shaon, country head of Grey Advertising Bangladesh Limited and eminent actress and Director of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) Shomi Kaiser will grace the inaugural ceremony.
The exhibition will showcase a selection of 48 works done in acrylic, pastel, watercolour etching and aquatint, linocut, and mixed media on canvas and paper. The exhibition will be open for all till December 2, every day from 11:30 pm to 8 pm.
Nagarbasi Barman, born in 1973, is one of the ardent painters of the late 1990s and he always tries to keep a low profile. He is very earnest about his creations and has already formulated his personal language of art through unique uses of strong themes and techniques and a selection of objects. His artworks have chiefly focused on the themes of a certain community – fishermen as well as their surrounding atmospheres, their socio-economic conditions, joys, pains, ecstasies and other facets of life.
