Popular Bangladeshi model-actress Jessia Islam is set to get her big-screen debut with the upcoming joint venture film ‘Sparsha’. The film’s co-director Anonno Mamun recently shared the news with the press.

The Miss World Bangladesh 2017 winner will be seen opposite actor Nirab in the upcoming Indo-Bangla co-production film.

The drama film ‘Sparsha’ is a joint venture production between Dhaka’s Action Cut Entertainment and Kolkata’s Roll Camera Action. The project will be directed jointly by Bangladeshi filmmaker Anonno Mamun and Indian filmmaker Abhinandan Dutta.

Mamun also mentioned that the shooting of the film will be started in India next week. It will feature two heroines from both Bengals opposite Nirab. One of them will be Jessia Islam. Also, the film will star West Bengal veterans including Rituparna Sengupta and Kharaj Mukhopadhyay.

Previously, Jaaz Multimedia owner and film producer Abdul Aziz announced that Miss World Bangladesh (2017) Jessia Islam, and the first runner-up of Miss Universe Bangladesh (2019), Alisha Islam will star as Bangladesh Counter intelligence Agency (BCI) spies in the upcoming Masud Rana adaptation movie, ‘MR-9.’

Yet, no further updates of Jessia’s role were ever mentioned to the press. The film recently wrapped production in the US and is being directed by Bangladeshi-born Hollywood-based filmmaker Asif Akbar. It was also said that Jessia even shot for her part in that film back in June but was later on replaced by Puja Chery.
