‘Monkey Trial’ on BSA stage today

Theatre troupe Batighar is going to stage its 5th production ‘Monkey Trial’ today at Jatiya Natyashala of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at Segun Bagicha in the capital at 7 pm. This will be the 10th staging of the play.

The play originally based on Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee’s Inherit the Wind has been directed by Muktonil.

‘Monkey Trial’ which is a fictional courtroom drama, is based on 1925’s ‘Scopes Trial’ where a high school teacher was accused of violating Tennessee’s Butler Act.

The ticket for the show will cost Tk 100, Tk 200, Tk 300 and Tk 500 depending on the sitting arrangements.
