Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA) and satellite television channel Channel i are now all set to organise the biggest musical concert. This year ‘BAMBA-Channel i Band Music Fest 2022’ will rock the stage at the Army Stadium in the capital on December 2.

‘Channel i Band Fest’ will be held paying tribute to Ayub Bachchu—also known as AB to his fans, one of the most talented musicians the country has ever produced. He was also the key person and one of the organizers of the ‘Band Fest’.

To provide further details about the mega event, a press conference was held yesterday on the Channel i premises, which was attended by Channel i managing director Faridur Reza Sagar, Channel i director and head of news Shykh Seraj, BMBA president Hamim Ahmed and others.

Music Fest programme director Izaz Khan Swapan said, “From now on every year on December 1, ‘Band Music Day’ will be celebrated across the country and ‘Bamba-Channel i Band Music Concert’ will be held on the first Friday of December. This year the concert will be held in Dhaka on December 2 (Friday) at the Army Stadium.”

The inaugural ceremony of ‘Band Music Day’ will be held on December 1 on the premises of Channel i. State Minister for Culture Affairs KM Khalid will be present as chief guest, while Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque will be present as special guest. Members of the 52 bands listed on Bamba will also be present at the opening ceremony. Late band stars including Azam Khan, Ayub Bachchu, and Lucky Akhand will be remembered through this event.

Hamin Ahmed said, “BAMBA for the first time is going to organise the biggest concert of the year in association with Channel i, embodying the dream of our band music legend Ayub Bachchu. Hope everyone will support such an initiative.”

He then announced the names of the 16 bands participating in this year’s concert. The participating bands include Nagar Baul, Miles, Warfaze, Souls, Renaissance, Feedback, Aurthohin, Maqsood O’ Dhaka, Obscure, Dalchhut, Artcell, Shironamhin, Viking, Cryptic Fate, Powersurge and Pentagon.
