The Kannada industry is facing backlash for the hypocrisy shown in the Rashmika issue.

The reason for all these sudden calls for a ban on Rashmika in Karnataka is due to her recent remarks that she made during the promotional interviews for her Bollywood debut ‘Good Bye’ directed by Vikash Bahl.

The actress recently gave an interview with the media where she spoke at length about her journey of becoming an actress. While she spoke about how she was never planning on becoming an actor and how she got her first break with ‘Kirik Party’, which made her an overnight star, Rashmika refrained from mentioning the name of the production house, co-founded by Rakshit Shetty, her former fiancee. This irked a section of the Rakshit fans. For the unversed, Rashmika and Rakshit Shetty were in a relationship and even got engaged but later broke off their marriage plans.

Rashmika, last seen in a Kannada film was opposite Dhruva Sarja in ‘Pogaru’ released in 2021.
