Four popular stars of the country’s showbiz Shabnam, Afsana Mimi, Shabnur, and Popy are annoyed with the people impersonating them on social media.

Many artistes in the cultural arena have been associated with these fake IDs. Some pictures are being posted from fake accounts of the four actors giving the impression that the IDs are real.

On November 27, one ‘Sadika Parveen Popy’ posted, “Everyone please pray for my friend Kazi Sharmin Nahid Nupur.”

On that post, many wanted to know what happened to Shabnur but there was no reply.

Shabnur said she is not sick and she is quite fine in Australia.

Shabnur on her verified Facebook page repeatedly clarified that ‘Kazi Sharmin Nahid Nupur’ is not her Facebook ID, it is a fake ID.

Popy’s sister Soma said that her sister Popy does not have any Facebook ID. She said the people who are connected to fake account in the name of Popy would have to bear responsibilities if anything happens to them.

On the other hand, the living legend Shabnam said, ‘I have my Facebook ID – ‘Jharna Basak’. However, someone is sending friend requests to people close to me by opening a Facebook ID in my name.”

Afsana Mimi said, “Many people have called me and asked me whether I have a Facebook ID or not. I want to make it clear to everyone that I don’t have a Facebook ID.”

These four artistes requested DMP’s Cyber Crime Investigation and Police Cyber Support for Women to take care of these fake IDs so that they do not face any problems in the future.
