‘Kendrio Barshik Natya Utsab’ starts today at TSC

An eight-day-long theatre festival titled ‘Kendrio Barshik Natya Utsab 2022’ organised by the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies of Dhaka University, will begin today. The 16th season of the festival will feature 16 theatre productions that are directed by the final year students of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies.

The inaugural ceremony will take place in the auditorium of the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC). Eminent Bangladeshi actor, politician, and activist Asaduzzaman Noor will be receiving the special honour on the opening day of the festival. The curtain of the festival will rise with the staging of the play ‘Kobor’ which is originally written by Munier Choudhury. After that, the play ‘Camp’ written by Muhammed Zafar Iqbal will be staged.

The staging will start every day at 6:30 pm at the TSC auditorium. The festival will end on December 8 with the play ‘Mohua’.
