‘Dhaka Attack’-famed director Dipankar Dipon’s film ‘Antarjal’, the first cyber thriller in Dhalliwood,  will be released in the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. The makers announced the news at an event to release the film’s first motion poster, popularly known as moster, at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on Monday.

The moster featured the major cast members of the film – ABM Sumon as ASP Raihan (CID Officer), Bidya Sinha Mim as Nishat (Cyber Security Specialist), Sunerah Binte Kamal as Priyam (Robotics Engineer), Mashrur Enan as Sadaf (Software Engineer), and Siam Ahmed as Lumin (Programmer). Motion People Studios ltd and Spellbound Leoburnett Production have made the moster.

State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended the event as the chief guest. Senior Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division NM Zeaul Alam, Digital Security Agency director Khairul Amin, producers of the film, Mohammad Ali Haider and Sadequl Arefin, co-producer Shah Amir Khasru, director Dipankar Dipon, Actor Siam Ahmed, Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Mashrur Enan and others were also present at the event.

“Every country is now at risk of cybercrime. To encourage our youth in the cyber world and to make the mass population aware of it, the ICT division showed an interest in being a part of this film. Our audience is now showing interest in watching Bangladeshi films. From ‘Dhaka Attack’ to ‘Paran’, ‘Hawa’, and ‘Damal’, several super hit films have created hype in the country and abroad. We are also very optimistic about the success of the film ‘Antarjal’,” said Zunaid Ahmed Palak.

Sharing his secret of filmmaking, director Dipankar Dipon said, “I get a very little chance to have proper sleep. So, whenever a movie is boring, I get sleepy, which is why I’ve fallen asleep in a lot of theatres. So, I always keep this in mind that whenever I make a film it has to be interesting and should not let one sleep.”

“The film ‘Antarjal’ is not a romantic film. When I began working on this film, I started researching the industry, as I had zero ideas about it. I tried to make the film as authentic as much as possible. I think in recent times no one is out of the IT sector. Cyber security is very important nowadays. The story of this film is all about the cyber world. I can assure all that audience will watch the film with full interest and will have the thrill,” he added. National award-winning actor Siam Ahmed, who will be seen in the role of Lumin –  a young computer programmer from Rajshahi, also shared his thoughts about the film. “I have expectations for all of the films because if I don’t have any, I won’t be singing them.” I can say the team of ‘Antarjal’ was really good. The subject plot of the film is very new in our country. I’ve worked with Dipankar Dipon in ‘Operation Sundarban’ and I can say he is an absolutely amazing director,”  said Siam Ahmed.

Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, who is now enjoying the golden period of her career, will be seen in the role of a cyber-security specialist. She also shared her experience while working on this film. “When I first read the script I was surprised. I then immediately called Diponkor and asked whether it was the real script or if the copy I’m reading is modified. Then he assured me that the character is actually the same as what I was reading. I really enjoyed working on this film,” said Mim. The makers also shared the news that the team is now busy working on the post-production of the film.
