Mitu wants new challenges from directors

Bangladeshi model and actress Zahara Mitu has made her silver screen debut with Kazi Hayat’s ‘Joy Bangla’. Although Mitu started her acting career with Dhallywood star Shakib Khan with the film ‘Agun’, the film is yet to be finished. The actress hopes to finish the film soon.

The actress recently completed the dubbing of the film, but the shooting of some parts of the film is not done yet. “The film ‘Agun’ is the first film with which I started my acting career. However, the shooting of some parts still is yet to be done. Apart from the shooting of songs, the film is almost complete. I’m not feeling well these days. I hope to return to the shooting floor after I recover from the illness,” said the actress.

“Working with Shakib Khan is something I’m very proud of. I hope people will appreciate the film,” she added. The actress has just recovered from Typhoid. Due to that, she was mostly absent from the promotional campaigns of her debut film ‘Joy Bangla’. About her absence in the promotional campaign of ‘Joy Bangla’, the actress said, “It was not what it looks like. I was there. I was in India at the Goa Film Festival. I got a fever there. After I returned, I was diagnosed with Typhoid. Yet, I told my producer and director that whenever the team will need me, I’ll be there. I tried my best to participate in promotional works.”

Mitu is a professional fashion designer, who has worked with various local and international companies in various posts. She worked with H&M, Walmart, Charles Vögele and many more brands. After she started acting, she worked on six films, which are in the pipeline for release.

Zahara Mitu describes herself as a positive person. Talking about the recent issues of body positivity, the actress said, “Every character has its own demands. When I was in the film ‘Agun’, I gained 12 to 13 kg. When I acted in ‘Commando’ I had to lose weight. We artistes are like moulds, and we have to build ourselves accordingly. I think an artiste should take on the challenge of becoming the character that the film demands, and for that, understanding between artistes and directors is very important. I think what happened recently shouldn’t have happened this way. It was really a silly matter.”

Mitu dreams of being a versatile actress. She wants to experiment with different characters and wants directors to give her new challenges. “I want directors to do experiments and through new challenges towards me. I don’t want any of my characters to match with one another,” said Mitu.
