Films to be released on the first week of New Year

It looks like 2023 is set to have a blast, as the Bangladeshi entertainment industry is set to release three films in the first week of this year. The three interesting contents include a web film, a web series, and a full-length feature film. Those are ‘Kajoler Din Ratri’, ‘Guti’, and ‘Black War’ which will be released on January 1, January 5, and January 6 respectively.

Starring Mehazabien Chowdhury and Tawsif Mahbub, ‘Kajoler Din Ratri’ will be released today on the new OTT platform DeeptoPlay. Directed by Vicky Zahed, the film also casts Samia Othoi, Shirin Alam, Adnan Chowdhury, Anowar Shahi, and others.

The audience will have the web series ‘Guti’. Starring Azmeri Haque Badhan, the series will be premiered on the popular OTT platform Chorki on January 5. Directed by Shankha Dasgupta this is going to be a seven-episode-long web series. Badhan will be seen playing the role of a drug smuggler, who gets caught up in the world of drug peddling. The series also stars Nasir Uddin Khan, Shariar Nazim Joy, and Mousumi Hamid in pivotal roles.

For the silver screens, ‘Black War’, the sequel to Arifin Shuvoo’s ‘Mission Extreme’ will be released on January 6. The plot of ‘Mission Extreme’ was inspired by some of the most astounding operations of the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit (CTTC), a specialised branch of the Bangladesh Police, that aims to combat terrorism. This film is also co-directed by Faisal Ahmed and casts Taskeen Rahman, Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shatabdi Wadud, Iresh Zaker, Manoj Kumar Pramanik and others.
