Badhan’s ‘Guti’ to be released today

‘Rehana Maryam Noor’ famed Bangladeshi actress Azmeri Haque Badhan’s first OTT series ‘Guti’ will be streaming on the local OTT platform Chorki today. The seven-part series has been directed by Shankha Das Gupta. In this series, Badhan will play the role of a drug dealer named Sultana.

Sultana has been involved with a local drug smuggling network for years. During this time she made a lot of money and wealth, but in return, she lost close people, relationships, and faith. There is no escape from this work. But Sultana dreams of a beautiful world for her daughter. Thus the story of the series goes to a climax.

Regarding the main character in the series, Badhon said, “The story of ‘Guti’ has been arranged very well by director Shankha Das. He wants to bring a completely different plot, different characters, and a different kind of story. Here I acted as a drug dealer named Sultana. I have been carrying this character for a long time. The castings in the series are very interesting.”

Bandhan said to the audience, “I don’t want to hear that there are no works based on female leads in Bangladesh. I believe this perception will be changed within the next 2 years. We can change this thinking with our work. I can give something new to the audience.”

The web series also casts Shahriar Nazim Joy, Sharif Siraj, Moushumi Hamid, Nasir Uddin Khan, Arya Aritra, Tuntuni Sobhan, Arfan Mridha Shiblu, and Mahmudul Alam, among others.
