‘In/Visible’ begins today

Dilara Begum Jolly’s multi-disciplinary visual art exhibition titled ‘In/Visible’ begins at Kala Kendra today.

Curated by Sharmilie Rahman, the opening ceremony will be held at 6:00pm. Perween Hasan, vice chancellor of Central Women’s University, will attend the inaugural event as the chief guest. The exhibition is a solo exhibition which is an iteration of multi-disciplinary visual artist, Dilara Begum Jolly’s ongoing series, ‘Deher Akhyan’ (Bodies that speak).

The current series is an exposé aiming to restore the female body, otherwise rendered invisible through systemic regulation, domination and violence. Jolly’s current repertoire comprises painting, installation, soft-sculpture, photography and video. The exhibition will remain open till January 28, every day from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
