Badhon, Amitabh to take part today

Bangladeshi actress Azmeri Haque Badhon and filmmaker Amitabh Reza will take part in the third day of Dhaka Lit Fest this year. The 10th edition of Dhaka Lit Fest began on January 5 on premises of Bangla Academy. State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, Nobel Laureate writer Abdulrazak Gurnah and writer Amitav Ghosh attended the inaugural ceremony of the Lit Fest.

‘Khufiya’ famed actress Azmeri Haque Badhan will charm her fans with an appearance at Dhaka Lit Fest. The actress will be conducting a session title ‘Dhara Badhar Baire’ with Bonna Mirza, Chanchal Chowdhury, Afzal Hossain at 4.15pm on the lawn of Bangla Academy. The actress will also participate as a panel member in the literary event.

On the other hand, Amitabh Reza’s film ‘Rickshaw Girl’ will have a screening on the third day of DLF from 7pm to 9pm at AKSB Auditorium.

The third day of the programme will also feature the performance of Baul Shafi Mondol at 6:45pm at Nazrul Stage of Bangla Academy and a children’s puppet show will be held earlier that day at the Nazrul Stage from 11.15am to 12.15pm.

Over 500 speakers, performers, and thinkers representing five continents will participate in the four-day event with over 175 sessions. Abdulrazak Gurnah, Nuruddin Farah, Amitav Ghosh, Hanif Kureishi, Pankaj Mishra, Tilda Swinton, Jon Lee Anderson, Onjali Rauf, Sarah Churchwell, Geetanjali Shree, Daisy Rockwell, Esther Freud, Alexandra Pringle, Dame Sarah Gilbert, Marina Mahathir, Joy Goswami, Anisul Hoque, Mashrur Arefin, Kamal Chowdhury, Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Marina Tabassum, Syed Manzoorul Islam, Imdadul Haq Milan, Kaiser Haq, Shaheen Akhtar, Amitabh Reza and Azmeri Haque Badhon, in addition to others, will be participating in the DLF.
