Unreleased ‘Suriya 42’ sells for $12m

After a short break for New Year, the team of Suriya’s upcoming film with director Siva, which is tentatively called ‘Suriya 42’, is back in action. The story revolves around a warrior in the 1678 dies due to a disease, in the present a girl does research on the disease which killed the warrior in 1678.

According to The Times of India’, the mega-budget film with the director Siruthai Siva, is a 3D periodic drama being made in 10 languages and in two parts. Suriya’s high-budget movie will be a periodic drama starring Bollywood actress Disha Patani as the female lead and the versatile actor Suriya is said to be playing 5 different characters in the film. Reports are that 60% of the shooting for the film is completed. The film’s shooting is expected to be wrapped up completely by March or April 2023. The music of ‘Suriya 42’ is composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

Meanwhile, according to news reports, producer Dr Jayantilal Gada has now acquired the rights of the film in Hindi for Rs 100 crore ($12.1 milion). Apart from Hindi rights, the production house also acquired the satellite, digital and theatre distribution rights for the movie’s Hindi version.

Suriya will soon appear in a cameo in the upcoming Hindi version of “Soorarai Pottru,” which features Akshay Kumar in the lead role.
