Noor returns to theatre with ‘Remand’

Eminent actor and Member of Parliament, Asaduzzaman Noor, will return to the stage with a new play titled ‘Remand’. The premiere show of the play will be staged on January 22 at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).

The play is the latest production of the theatre troupe Hridmoncho, and the play will be staged as a part of the theatre festival ‘Aly Zaker Notuner Utshob’. The festival titled ‘Aly Zaker Notuner Utshob’ will begin at BSA on January 21. The festival will end on January 26. Five different theatre troupes will stage five new plays.

The play has been directed and penned by Shuvasis Sinha.

The play portrays the story of recent times. The story of the play ‘Remand’ revolves around a writer who has been taken under police remand. The whole story revolves around the incidents that take place in the interrogation room. Asaduzzaman Noor will play the writer’s role in this play, who gets embroiled in controversy.

Along with Noor, the play also stars, Kamaluddin Kabir, Jyoti Sinha, Sajib Hossain, and Shahnaz Jahan, among others.

Apart from theatre, Asaduzzaman Noor is expected to be back on the silver screen with the film ‘Joy Bangla Dhwani’. The film is directed by K M Khurshid. Asaduzzaman Noor is playing the character of Shombhu Rajakar in this film. His role will be portrayed in two timelines, his youth and old age.

The story of this film is written by former Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan.

The veteran actor returned to acting after a long break in 2021 with the multi-starrer anthology web series ‘Unoloukik’ for the OTT platform Chorki.
