The Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) is going on in full swing. On the fifth day of the festival, Raihan Rafi’s acclaimed film ‘Damal’ is set to be screened at the Main Auditorium of the Bangladesh National Museum. The film stars Siam Ahmed, Sariful Razz and Bidya Sinha Mim, in lead roles.
The film will be screened as a part of the Bangladesh Panorama segment. The screening will start at 7:00 pm. ‘Damal’ presents a fictional storyline inspired by the Swadhin Bangla football team. The team toured throughout India playing a total of 16 friendly matches to raise international awareness and financial support for the Bangladesh Liberation War.
Apart from ‘Damal’ there will be movies that will be screened at the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib auditorium (main auditorium) and the Poet Sufia Kamal auditorium of the Bangladesh National Museum, the National Art Gallery auditorium, the National Music and Dance of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Star Cineplex (Bashundhara City), and Alliance Francaise de Dhaka (Dhanmondi).
The Film festival kicked-off on January 14, with a plan to screen 252 films from 71 countries over the course of the event.
