The crowd-funded film ‘Saatao (Memories of Gloomy Monsoons)’ will have its national premiere at Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) today. Directed by Khandaker Sumon, the film has Aynun Putul and Fazlul Haque in pivotal roles.

“I’ve acted under Khandaker Sumon in a short film. Basically, he motivated me to act in the lead role,” said Aynun Putul. The actress has played the role of a woman named Putul in the film.

The story of ‘Saatao’ revolves around the life struggle of farmers and the universal struggles of women from marginalised backgrounds.
