How was your experience with the ‘Mission Extreme’ and ‘Black War’ teams?

I was nervous at first. When I started the workshop with Tariq Anam Khan Sir, I realised for the first time that this project actually has a lot of talented artistes and stars in our industry. I met them for the first time at that workshop so I was nervous thinking about my performance as I never thought that my first project in Bangladesh will have so many star casts. Now, when I receive appreciation from them I feel very lucky.

Tell us something about your character in the film

I played the role of Era in the film who is a strong and independent police officer. Era always gives priority to her career. This is something I can relate to myself as well. My career is one of my top priorities. Apart from that, my father worked for Bangladesh Army. I grew up in that environment. So, I had some experience with the life of civil officers. I can connect with them and that helped me a lot.

How did you begin acting career?

I debuted with a Bollywood film titled ‘Pareshaan Parinda’. After that, I worked on the film ‘Mission Extreme’ which marks my debut in the Dhallywood entertainment industry. ‘Black War’ is my third film. It was like a dream to me as I started my work in the Bollywood film industry. Actually, I didn’t have to do much to be a part of Bollywood, the production team of ‘Pareshaan Parinda’ searched for me, and they contacted me for this work. I feel fortunate for that. Those who are born in Bangladesh don’t really expect that they can debut with a Bollywood film. I was lucky to do that. After that, when I started working with ‘Misson Extreme’, it was also a dream.

How would you differentiate Bollywood, Tollywood and our entertainment industry?

I feel the difference between these two industries is huge. It is better if we don’t compare our film industry to Bollywood and Hollywood. Because Bollywood and Hollywood both industries are really big, whether it’s the budget or the technical support these, they are much ahead of others. I have worked with Hollywood too as I stayed in Australia for many years. With limited resources, we still try our best to make good films. I think if we compare our industry with others we might fall behind so it’s better we don’t compare.

How was your life in Australia and how will you describe yourself as a person?

After finishing my school, I moved to Australia for my higher studies. I’m staying there for the past 11 years. I work with agencies in Australia too. I love to interact with people. Many think that I am not as friendly as I stayed abroad for a long time. However, I’m totally the opposite as a person.

What is your future plan?

I want to work in Bangladesh for now. Want to do work on interesting and good projects. Mostly I want to be regular so that I can be able to make a place in the hearts of the audience. I am receiving some offers but didn’t sign up for any. For now, I want to enjoy the character Era.
