Anwar Jahan Nantu passes away

‘Tumi Amar Moner Majhi’ famed composer and music director Anwar Jahan Nantu passed away early in the morning on Sunday, around 3 am. He was 78 years old at the time of his death. Anwar took his last breath at a private hospital in Dhaka.

Anwar Jahan Nantu’s son, renowned playwright and director, Sagar Jahan confirmed the news. “My father was admitted to hospital due to old age complications. Please pray for my father.” said Sagar.

His funeral prayer took place yesterday at the Mogbazar area in the capital.

Anwar Jahan Nantu gifted the music industry with numerous timeless hits, including ‘Premer Somadhi Bhenge’, ‘Chokher Jole Ami’, and ‘Tumi Dub Diona’, among others.
