‘Rhythm of Concrete’ underway at EMK Center

Nur Munjerin Rimjhim’s first solo art exhibition titled ‘Rhythm of Concrete’ is taking place at the EMK Center in Dhaka.

Celebrated painter and freedom fighter Shahabuddin Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest on February 7. Fire arts teachers and artists Dr Farida Zaman and Jamal Ahmed were present as special guests.

Artist Nur began exploring perspective and buildings during her BFA at Dhaka University. She felt a strong connection to these subjects from then and it inspired her to focus on the architectural wonders of Bangladesh.

Her series of pen sketches of Dhaka University and its Faculty of Fine Art sparked an interest in heritage sites. Growing up in the historic city of Rajshahi, with its many ancient mosques and temples, she has always been drawn to heritage sites.

The artist hopes to not only continue exploring the heritage of her hometown but also to delve into the rich history of heritage sites around the world.

The exhibition is open to all every day from 9:30am to 6:00pm except Fridays and national holidays until February 27.
