‘Aam Kathaler Chhuti’ receives uncut censor clearance

The Bangladesh Film Censor Board recently granted uncut censor clearance to Mohammad Nuruzzaman’s directorial debut, ‘Aam Kathaler Chhuti’. The film is expected to be released on July 21.

The film has a story that will be a walk down memory lane for people who grew up in the 80s and late 90s. It will also help introduce the new generation to the beauty of nature and the importance of being in touch with local folk tales.

“I tried to show my childhood to my daughter through this film. I was glad to know that the film was able to touch the hearts of the censor board members. Censor board committee members watch all the movies made in Bangladesh for the sake of responsibility, so when they say that my film is exceptional from others, it seems that my time and effort of almost six years spent on this work is worthwhile,” said Mohammad Nuruzzaman.

The children’s film has been adapted from Shorif Uddin Shobuj’s short story. The shooting of this film took place in different locations in Gazipur.

Apart from directing, Mohammad Nuruzzaman has also developed the screenplay and adaptation for the film. He was assisted by Juboraj Shamim, known for his directorial film, ‘Adim’. “Aam Kathaler Chhuti” stars Jubayer, Leon, Arif, Halima, Tanjil, Fatema, and many others.

The film premiered at Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival in Indonesia last year.
