Tahsan’s new music video ‘Harai Bohudur’ accused of plagiarism

Popular musician Tahsan Khan has allegedly deleted his Instagram post promoting his new duet song with Shusmita Anis ‘Harai Bohudur’, after K-pop fans accused the artistes of plagiarising the music video of BTS RM’s solo track ‘Wild Flower’.

Just after the song’s release, social media has been flooded with posts from K-pop fans, who have been furious about the song for plagiarising the music video of BTS RM’s solo track ‘Wild Flower’.

Some popular K-pop sites like ‘Allkpop’ and ‘Koreaboo’ also shared articles about alleged plagiarism.

According to Allkpop, after the horde of criticism from fans, the YouTube channel decided to shut off the comment section and added ‘Concept inspiration from RM Wildflower BTS’ in the credit section.

Although the fans seem unsatisfied even after the disclaimer. Fans are also pointing out that this is not a proper way to give credit to the original artist, especially after adding RM’s name after being called out for plagiarism. Although the video was edited to include a link to RM’s solo track, fans remain angered and continue to take their anger to online communities and social media such as Twitter.

However, neither the singers nor their representatives have made official statements about the situation.

According to a national daily newspaper Tahsan said, ‘I had no idea that the music video was plagiarised. It completely ruined my day when I got to know about it, and I immediately reprimanded the video makers. I made them apologise not only to me, but to the fans as well’.

Meanwhile, the director Aga Nahiyan Ahmed refused to apologise as he said, ‘There is nothing to apologise about here. I did not make any mistakes. I am inspired by BTS, and this could be seen as an inspiration. We have already reuploaded the music video, cutting the ‘questionable’ parts. It is in no way a copy.’

After the whole situation, Shusmita Anis added a disclaimer on the caption of the song that reads, ‘None of the artistes were involved or had any knowledge of the video production. Flybot Studio is a professional production house. They take full responsibility for the video production of ‘Harai Bohudur’. They apologized for their choice of shots that offended certain groups of fans. For this reason, the video has been re-edited and re-uploaded. It is fair to be respectful to the music artists.’
