Have no plan to get married now: Jaya Ahsan

Popular actress Jaya Ahsan is now randomly attending wedding ceremonies as a surprise guest.

Her appearance at the ceremonies surprises the guests and they later come to know that their favourite actress is attending the ceremonies as part of a promotional campaign titled ‘Wedding Crash’ arranged by a reputed paint company to promote their latest product.

While attending the wedding ceremonies Jaya is facing a common question from the guests and particularly her fans and that is when she will get married.

“I don’t have any plans to get married right now,” she told her fans at a wedding ceremony held in Dhaka.

She, however, remained guarded saying, “Nothing can be said to be certain as nobody knows the future. I’m doing fine now and not thinking of getting married.”

Jaya was surprised at everyone’s interest to see her getting married. “I’m happily single. I want to keep working with quality content and do something for the country,” added Jaya.

Earlier, the actress was busy shooting for the Suman Mukhopadhyay directorial project ‘Putul Nacher Itikatha’. The film stars Jaya as Kushum, a 23-year-old mysterious lady, who is unpredictable and quirky by nature.

The film is an adaptation of a novel of the same name, penned by eminent litterateur Manik Bandyopadhyay. According to reports, the dubbing and editing of ‘Putul Nacher Itikatha’ will be completed by April. The film also stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Abir Chatterjee.

Meanwhile, Jaya will be making her Bollywood debut with versatile actor Pankaj Tripathi in a new movie. The film will be an investigative drama with a heartwarming story of a dysfunctional family coming together. Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjana Sanghi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Jaya Ahsan, Dilip Shankar, Paresh Pahuja, Varun Buddhadev, and many more will star in it.

Jaya won the Anandalok Best Actress award for her role in the film ‘Binisutoy’, in India’s Kolkata. She also won the Joy Filmfare Award (Bangla) for Best Actress in the popular category for her performance in that film.

In 2018, Jaya was awarded the Filmfare for the first time as best actress for her acting in the film ‘Bisarjan’. In 2019, she won the award again in the same category for ‘Bijoya’ and ‘Robibar’.

Debuting on the silver screen with the film ‘Bachelor’, directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki in 2004, Jaya won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress five times for her performances in the films Guerrilla (2011), Chorabali (2012), Zero Degree (2015), Debi (2018) and Alatchakra (2021).

Though, Jaya first appeared on television in a commercial for Coca-Cola in 1997.
