Senior actress Khaleda Aktar Kolpona will be honoured with a lifetime achievement award. Organised by a media house, the award ceremony will be taking place today at the Officer’s Club in the capital.

“This is the second time I’m receiving the honour. The first one was given by Bangladesh’s Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti. I am eternally grateful to those who chose to honour me. There is so much love and respect associated with this honour. Thus, I will receive it cordially. I have a lot of love for those who are fans. “Please pray for me so I can continue to do better in the future,” said Kolpona.

The National Film Award-winning actress Khaleda Aktar is now busy making two dramas titled ‘Premik Bikewala’ and ‘Call Girl’. She wrote the script for both dramas, and she is acting in them too.

The dramas cast Shiuli Shila, Amir Parvez, Banasree, and others.

A teacher by profession, Kolpona later switched to the entertainment industry in 1984 through a programme titled ‘Notun Mukher Sondhane’ (search for a new face). She made her silver screen debut with Motin Rahman’s film ‘Radha Krishno’.

Kolpona has acted in more than 500 films and continues to act.

Kolpona won the Bangladesh National Film Award for her role in the film ‘Jiner Badsha’.
