Arin’s exhibition ‘The Beginning’ ends

A three-day long solo art exhibition titled ‘The Beginning’ by Sadia Afrin Arin concluded on Saturday at Batighar-Smritite Shorone Aly Zaker, located in the Asiatic Centre. This is the first solo exhibition of artist Sadia Afrin Arin.

The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition was held on the gallery premises on February 16, where eminent theatre personality Sara Zaker was present. A number of 18 paintings were showcased at the exhibition.

“It was important for me to express the battle that had been going on in my mind for a long. Also, the fear of losing beloved ones during the pandemic, and the pain of staying apart from them, were constantly consuming me. I started painting to get some relief from that constant pain. I have tried to express my emotional state through the artworks,” said Sadia Afrin.

“Our wounds, battles, struggles, frustrations, anger, joy, complacency, and sadness, nothing is visible. I tried to convey them on the canvas in my way, in an abstract form, with the help of metaphors and colours. It was new for me when I helped myself,’’ she added.

The next exhibition of the artist’s work will take place at Shantibari in Lalmatia from March 3 to March 5. A total of 22 paintings will be featured in that exhibition.
