Music maestro Vijay Kichlu dies

Ninety-three-year-old Pt Vijay Kichlu, considered the ‘banyan tree’ in the Indian classical music fraternity, died on Friday.

According to the India Today a statement released by Kolkata’s Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital said he was admitted in a “gasping condition” and he suffered a cardiac arrest before treatment could begin.

It added that Kichlu had a history of comorbidities and he was admitted with heart failure for two weeks in January.
