Shilpakala celebrates 49th founding anniv

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) celebrated its 49th founding anniversary on Sunday. The organisation celebrated the day with a procession, flag hoisting ceremony, discussion, and cultural programme on its premises, Segun Bagicha in the capital.

The event began with hoisting the national flag and the flag of the BSA in the morning. Director General of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky later gave a summary of the event. Besides, a 10-day-long exhibition featuring the 49-year journey of the BSA was inaugurated at the academy. The exhibition is open to all until the end of the month, every day from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The cultural programme started at the National Theatre Auditorium at 11:00 am, while in the evening, officials of the BSA brought out a procession. Later on, a discussion and cultural programme were held at the Nandan Mancha.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid was present as the chief guest, and Cultural Secretary Abul Monsur was present as the special guest at the programme.

Artistes entertained the audience by staging solo music, palagan, ensemble music, classical dance, Jatra, and a lot more.
