Rupam’s portrait exhibition ends today

An exhibition of photos captured by Rupam Chowdhury is set to conclude today at Bengal Shilpaloy at Dhanmondi in Dhaka.

The exhibition showcases the portrait photography of 244 artists and nine art critics. The opening ceremony was held on February 23 at the gallery premises. Along with the exhibition, photographer Rupam Chowdhury launched his book titled ‘Rupam Chowdhury: Portrait of Artists’.

Matiur Rahman, the editor of Prothom Alo, and artist Rafiqun Nabi were present at the event.

“Congratulations and thanks to Rupam for taking the hassle to show us these moments. A good portrait is very difficult to take, but Rupam has the quality of portraying a character through a picture. This book and exhibition feature familiar faces from our cultural milieu,” said Rafiqun Nabi. Students of the Bengal Parampara Sangeetalaya performed sitar on the occasion.
