Deepika joins as presenter at Oscars

Deepika Padukone has added another feather to her hat as she will be a presenter at the Oscars 2023. The actress declared the news by herself.

On Thursday night, Deepika took to Instagram and shared a post with the names of all the presenters. The list also includes Dwayne Johnson, Michael B Jordan, Riz Ahmed, Emily Blunt, Glenn Close, Troy Kotsur, Dwayne Johnson, Jennifer Connelly, Samuel L. Jackson, Melissa McCarthy, Zoe Saldana, Donnie Yen, Jonathan Majors, and Questlove.

This is a special year for India, as three significant Indian movies are competing for the coveted Oscar nominations for 2023.

Despite not being submitted as India’s official Oscars pick, the unapologetically over-the-top action film ‘RRR’ has built grassroots support to become a hugely popular favourite in Hollywood in recent months.

Fans include “Avatar” director James Cameron, who was seen praising its director S.S. Rajamouli in a recent video that went viral on social media, prompting hopes the film could land a best picture Oscar nomination.

While that did not happen, its catchy musical number “Naatu Naatu” was nominated for best original song.

The film that India instead submitted for best international feature, “Last Film Show,” failed to land a nomination. The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12 at Los Angeles’ Dolly Theatre.

This time Surreal sci-fi flick ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ topped the Oscar nominations.
