Cultural arena set to celebrate 103rd birthday of Bangabandhu

Cultural arena of the country is all set to celebrate the 103rd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day-2023 in a befitting manner today.

Cultural Ministry will pay homage by placing wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhaka’s Dhanmondi-32 today at 8 am. Later a cultural programme followed by a discussion will be held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 4pm.

A day-long programme will be held on the premises of Bangabandhu Samadhi Soudha Complex in Tungipara, Gopalganj today. The Ministry of Women and Children Affairs is organising the programme. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the programme, while State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira will be present as a special guest. The programme features speeches by child representatives, screening of documentaries on Bangabandhu and children’s rights, poetry recitals, and book fairs.

To mark the day, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has also organised a day-long cultural programme at the academy premises. The programme will begin through the children’s art competition at 10 am at the National Art Gallery of BSA. Later, artworks will be displayed at Gallery 1 and 2. Later a seminar on ‘Smart Bangladesher Swapne Bangabandhur Jonmodin, Shishuder Chokhe Somriddhir Swopne Rongin’ will be held at the seminar hall of BSA at 4 pm.

To celebrate the day, Udbhason in association with Bangla Academy has organised an event titled ‘Swadhin Jatir Swadhin Pita’ at the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy at 4 pm.

On the other hand, Bangladesh Film Development Corporation has arranged an event today to commemorate the birthday of the father of the nation.

Moreover, Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television, and other private TV and radio stations will air special programmes highlighting the significance of the day.

On the occasion of Bangabandhu’s 103rd birth anniversary and National Children’s Day 2023, discussion meetings and cultural events have been organised in the district and upazila. All ministries and departments will observe the day in a befitting manner. Besides, discussion, writing, and painting competitions will be held in all educational institutions.
