‘Hawa’, ‘Damal’, ‘Beauty Circus’ streaming on iScreen

After successful runs on the silver screen, the three most acclaimed films - ‘Hawa’, ‘Damal’ and ‘Beauty Circus’- from last year were finally released on OTT platform iScreen.

The platform, owned by Channel i, was launched on Thursday night at a grand event at the Sheraton Hotel in the capital.

The most hyped Bangladeshi movie of 2022 ‘Hawa’ is without a doubt a game changer film for the industry. Written and directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon and produced by A Facecard Productions and Sun Music & Motion Pictures Limited, the film was released on July 29 and stars Chanchal Chowdhury, Nazifa Tushi, Sariful Razz, Sumon Anowar, Shohel Mondol, Nasir Uddin Khan, and Rizvi Rizu, among others. Not just in Bangladesh, but the film successfully made its way to international cinema halls on September 2 this year, including 13 halls in Canada and 73 halls in the USA. It also went on to become the first Bangladeshi film to reach the top 30 charts in the US.

In the meantime, Director Raihan Rafi regained his spot in the limelight with ‘Damal’. The film is a Bangladeshi period drama film produced by Impress Telefilms. The story is based on true events and untold history, it revolves around two football teams from different eras: the legendary Shadhin Bangla Football Team and a similar team from the present. The film features Sariful Razz, Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, Siam Ahmed, and Shahnaz Sumi in the lead roles. The film was released on October 28th.

After a long break, Jaya Ahsan made her comeback in the local film industry with ‘Beauty Circus’ which was released in theatres on September 23 of last year. Jaya effortlessly stepped into the role of Beauty, the head of the circus, and effortlessly portrayed the complexity of her character.

Meanwhile, celebrities including Afzal Hossain, Mamunur Rashid, Subarna Mostofa, Badrul Anam Soud, Runa Khan, Tanvin Sweety, Raihan Rafi, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Azmeri Haque Badhan, Nipun Akter, Apu Biswas, Mehazabien Chowdhury, Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury, Sariful Razz, Pori Moni, Shamol Mawla, FS Nayeem, and Nazifa Tushi were present at the launching ceremony of iScreen.

The newly appointed project manager of the platform, popular actor Riaz Ahmed, greeted the audience with a big smile. Faridur Reza Sagar then announced the release of these three hit films on iScreen.

Additionally, a short teaser was shown at the event, which revealed the first look of the thriller web series, ‘A Clueless Murder,’ directed by Noyeem Imtiaz Neamul. The series will feature Afran Nisho and Sabila Nur in the lead roles. The series was based on a mysterious murder that happened a long time ago in a building.

Furthermore, Vickey Zahed is back again with another thriller project titled, ‘Ami Ki Tumi’ featuring Mehazabien Chowdhury in the lead role. Director Shihab Shaheen announced his project, ‘Nil Joler Kabbo’ starring Afran Nisho and Mehazabien in vital roles.

iScreen offers three subscription plans for the audience. They include a one-month subscription for BDT 25, a six-month subscription for Tk 125, and a one-year subscription for Tk 225.
