Celebrating the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) organised a day-long cultural programme at the academy premises on March 17.
The day-long programme began in the morning by placing a floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu in Dhanmondi 32.
An art competition titled ‘Smart Bangladesher Swapne Bangabandhur Jonmodin, Shishuder Chokhe Somriddhir Swopne Rongin’ was held at 10 am at the National Art Plaza of BSA. About 200 children took part in the exhibition. Later, artworks were displayed at Gallery 1 and 2.
Besides, to mark the 103rd birthday of Bangabandhu, an exhibition titled ‘Bangabandhu ke Bhalobese’ featuring 103 artworks by artist Shakila Khan Chayan was inaugurated at Gallery 2 of BSA. The exhibition will remain open to all every day from 11 am to 8 pm until March 31.
Later a seminar was held at the seminar hall of BSA at 4 pm. At 5:30 pm, a grand procession carrying Bangabandhu’s picture and placards, and banners took place at the academy premises.
Besides, a cultural programme was held in the evening. Artistes of BSA, Shishu Academy, People’s Little theatre, and others performed group dances, recitations, music renditions, and staging plays.
