Dhaka’s entertainment industry is witnessing another storm after producer Rahmat Ullah accused Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan of harassing a Bangladeshi-born Australian sexually.
Rahmat Ullah also came up with copies of complaints filed with the New South Wales police of Australia.
The topic came under the spotlight after Rahmat Ullah claimed that he was the producer of the film ‘Operation Agneepath’. Although the producer is out of the country at the moment but he said, “I did not run away. I came to Australia for work. I did not run away from anyone out of fear. I will return again in a few days with all the evidence.”
The producer sent copies of the reports of the New South Wales police on the case filed against Shakib to the media, which narrated the assault on the victim. The document also mentioned producer Rahmat Ullah as the ‘uncle’ of the victim as a witness.
According to the report, Shakib Khan, the victim and her uncle Rahmat Ullah work for a film production company as film producers.
Shakib is starring in this film. The victim and Rahmat Ullah were responsible for Shakib’s hotel, transportation, and sightseeing while in Australia.
The victim met Shakib overseas twice in February 2016. Shakib flew into Australia for the first time on August 31, 2016. She met him for the first time on September 1, 2016, when she took him for a haircut. The victim disclosed to Rahmat Ullah minor details of what had occurred before he took her home.
At 10:20pm on that night, the victim and Rahmat Ullah went to St George Police Station to report the incident. Detectives spoke with the victim and Rahmat Ullah who explained the investigative process surrounding the sexual assault and the requirement of providing a statement detailing the incident.
According to the medical report of the Australian police investigation, Shakib Khan brutally assaulted the victim sexually while he was drunk.
Meanwhile, Shakib Khan went to the office of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Sunday and filed a written complaint with DB against film producer Rahmat Ullah, who brought a rape allegation against him.
According to the actor, additional commissioner DB Harun-or-Rashid assured that the police would bring the fraudster under the law.
“He listened to everything and saw all the evidence, which took enough time. He also saw all the claims of that scammer,” said Shakib Khan.
Shakib said that he is very confident after hearing the DB chief’s words. “I believe the DB will catch the criminal quickly as they solve other cases quickly and catch other criminals quickly”
“I have filed a written complaint, and he has taken my complaint,” said the Dhallywood actor.
Earlier on Saturday night, Shakib went to Gulshan Police Station to file a case against producer Rahmat Ullah for extortion and false allegations. However, Gulshan police did not record it and advised him to take it up in court.
On March 15, Rahmat submitted a written complaint against Shakib to three associations of distributors, directors and actors under the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) about several seven-year-old incidents, including alleged sexual misconduct by the film star.
Rahmat claimed Shakib raped and physically injured an Australian female co-producer at a hotel room in New South Wales during the cast and crew’s stay in Australia for the film’s shooting.
