Freedom fighter and veteran actor Khalequz Zaman is no more. He was 73 at the time of death.
The actor passed away on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack. According to the sources Khalequz Zaman was complaining about shortness of breath. As his health started to decline he was taken to the nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
He will be buried at his family graveyard in Narsingdi.
Khalequz Zaman was the deputy leader of Bangladesh Liberation Force in Narsingdi’s Shibpur area.
He got inspiration in acting from late actor Golam Mustafa. But he could not get the scope to work with him in a common frame. He completed his Masters graduation from Institute of Fine Arts from Chittagong University.
Khalequz Zaman became a listed artist of BTV in 1975. He first appeared in the TV series ‘Shorpobhrome Rojju’. After that, he went on to act in various television projects including ‘Toma’, ‘Boro Bari’, ‘Somoy Osomoy’, among others.
He also acted alongside Nayok Raj Razzak and Kabori in the film ‘Onirban’. The actor had also showcased his acting prowess in movies including Shihab Shaheen’s ‘Chuye Dile Mon’ and Anam Biswas’s ‘Debi.’
