Swapnadal to stage its mimodrama ‘Macbeth’ today

To observe the ‘World Mime Day 2023’, theatre troupe Swapnadal will stage a special show of its full-length mimodrama ‘Macbeth’ today at 7:30 pm at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. This is the 18th production of the troupe.

The play written by William Shakespeare has been directed by Zahid Repon while the story reconstruction has been done by Juana Sobnom. The story of the play goes as three witches tell the Scottish general Macbeth that he will be King of Scotland. Encouraged by his wife, Macbeth kills the king, becomes the new king, and kills more people out of paranoia. Civil war erupts to overthrow Macbeth, resulting in more death.

A total of 14 members are working behind the production. The key role of Macbeth will be played by Tarek Aziz Nishok while Juana Sobnom will be seen playing the role of one of the three witches of Macbeth.

Apart from them, the play will have, Fazle Rabee Sukarno, Shakhawat Shamol, Shishir Shikder and others in various roles.
