Kolahall Communication and Bioscope Films have joined hands to hold ‘Kolahall Short Film Festival’ every year.
The festival aimed at searching for young and talented Bangladeshi filmmakers and their short films.
Both the companies signed an agreement on March 28 in San Francisco, USA, in this regard.
Speaking about the festival, the Chief Executive Kolahall Communication and National film award-winning music director Tanvir Tareq said, “This is a dream project for us. Anyone can contest in the festival. We will conduct this festival to find creative and talented filmmakers.”
The festival is open to all Bengali speakers, any filmmaker can send a short film of their own story on any of their devices. A jury of five people, including film personalities from around the country, will select the best filmmaker among the competitors.
The official announcement and the last date of the film submission will be announced soon.
The festival promises to be an exciting opportunity for young and talented filmmakers to showcase their work and find new opportunities in the world of cinema.
Bioscope Films CEO Raj Hamid said, “Kolahall Communication always promotes a healthy cultural practice. We were thinking of the short film festival from Bioscope Films, and just at the time, this initiative of Kolahall made our work easier. We will simultaneously produce three of the top ten short films and screen the top ten short films on the big screen in most states of the US and Canada.”
The festival will not be held like a traditional film festival and will also connect with a satellite channel and several other institutions. In addition to the film screenings, a 3-day final round event will feature film seminars and workshops with young filmmakers. Also, there will be book publications. The festival will also reward the 10 best makers.
