Actors Equity launches special legal wing

Actors Equity- a platform for all Bangladeshi actors has taken an initiative by launching a special legal wing to ensure protection of Television artistes from Bullying and harassment.

This special ‘legal wing’ was announced at a press meet by Actors Equity President Ahsan Habib Nasim on April 1, where Actors Equity General Secretary Rownak Hasan delivered the welcome speech.

The press meet was also attended by Dolly Zahur, Azmeri Haque Badhan, Prova, Jyotika Jyoti, Urmila Srabonti Kar and others.

The legal team will have three lawyers who are specialised to deal with such crisis and they are- Advocate Shah Manjurul Haque, Barrister Rabeya Jahan Firoze and Advocate Hasan Ferdous Jewel. They will be providing all kinds of legal support to the artistes throughout their trial periods.

ADC Nazmul Islam and ADC Khondokar Lenin of the cyber crime department of the Police will assist them with their cases. Actress Urmila Srabonti Kar, will coordinate the legal team as Law and Welfare Secretary.
