Prachyanat to stage ‘Achalayatan’ tomorrow

Theatre troupe Prachyanat will stage their production ‘Achalayatan’ (The Petrified Place) tomorrow at 7:00pm in the Experimental theatre hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Written by Rabindranath Tagore, Azad Abul Kalam directed the play.

The play revolves around a school named Achalayatan. It portrays the perpetual conflict between old values and radical ideas. Panchak and Mahapanchak, two siblings, hold radically divergent opinions. Mahapanchak holds to old values, whereas Panchak is the rebel. It is the 42nd production of the troupe.

The tickets for the play are available for Tk 500, Tk 300 and Tk 200, depending on seating arrangements.

Prachyanat staged the premier show on January 26 on the concluding day of theatre festival titled ‘Aly Zaker Natuner Utsab’, which featured five new plays produced by theatre troupes, namely Hridmoncho, Theatre Factory, BotTala, Tarua, and Prachyanat.
