Renowned actress Sushama Sarker, who has appeared in about ten movies and numerous dramas, is set to play a negative character for the first time in the upcoming film ‘Chhaya’. Based on Ferrari Farhad’s story and dialogues, the movie is being produced by Wajed Ali Sumon.
The story of ‘Chhaya’ is based on an urban setting. Sushama, who has always played positive characters in her previous movies, expressed her excitement about playing an antagonist in the film, saying, “I have already acted in several films and received a lot of response for those movies. But this is the first time I am playing a negative role in a film. It can be said that my character is one of the main characters in the story of the movie. That is why I am trying to do the work very carefully.”
The actress also praised the director Wajed Ali Sumon for helping her to make the character perfect.
Sushama has been participating in the shooting of the movie since last Friday and is expected to continue for eight consecutive days before returning to Dhaka. She is expected to shoot an Eid drama after returning to the capital.
Recently, Sushama also acted in a short film titled ‘ICU’ directed by Liton Kar, which gained immense appreciation and won the Best Film award at two different film festivals in Singapore and Nepal. “It was a turning point in my career. The short film was selected in 16 international film festivals and is continuing to gain accolades,” said Sushama. She also expressed her desire to work in such challenging roles in the future.
Recently, Sushama was seen alongside Jaya Ahsan in ‘Peyarar Subash’, which has been selected in the competition category at the 45th Moscow International Film Festival.
Sushama has also appeared in the latest web series, ‘Buker Moddhe Agun’.
Apart from acting in feature films, Sushama is also acting regularly in dramas. Currently, she is acting in Kaiser Ahmed’s ‘Swapner Rani’ and Sajib Mahmud’s ‘Prem Niketan’.
Sushama made her debut with the film, ‘Dubshatar’, directed by Nurul Alam Atique. Her notable movies include ‘Chuye Dile Mon’, ‘Dohon’, ‘Bhuban Majhi’, ‘Badsha’, ‘Gor’, and ‘Nawab LLB’.
