Afzal, Mimi pair up after 22 years

Renowned actors Afzal Hossain and Afsana Mimi paired up in a telefilm titled ‘Mohakaler Thik Moddikhane’ after a 22-year-long break. The telefilm will air on the satellite channel Channel i on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The story is developed by Faria Hossain while the telefilm has been directed by Arif Khan. The shooting of the project have been finished already.

Speaking about the telefilm, Afzal said, “As far as I remember, it was more than 22 years ago I acted opposite of Mimi in a drama. However, this time the plot of the upcoming teledrama is a bit different than the usual story we get to watch. I am really very happy to be working together with her again after a long time. Both of us played very emotional characters. The story intrigued me to act in this telefilm”.

While taking about the shooting experience of ‘Mohakaler Thik Moddikhane’, Mimi also expressed her nervousness while sharing the floor with Afzal Hossain before.

She said when she acted in a drama titled ‘Bhookatta’ 22 years ago she used to get nervous in front of Afzal Hossain.

“I am very excited to act with Afzal Hossain. I do not really know why I used to feel nervous before. However, I was a bit anxious this time too at first, but Afzal Hossain and Arif have helped me in all the way possible. Afzal Hossain helped me during the rehearsals and he even helped me prepare my script. I am also grateful to director Arif Khan for giving me this chance.”

Meanwhile, ‘Afzal Hossian O Tar Nayikara’ will soon air in OTT platform ‘iScreen’. A total of 35 actresses have acted in this web series.

Besides, Afzal will be bringing another new drama serial in the ‘Choto Kaku’ franchise. For this special series, he is currently directing a seven-episode drama due to be aired this Eid.

Afzal Hossain has been under the limelight after his recent performances on OTT platforms. Starting from Farooki’s ‘Ladies and Gentlemen,’ Shawki’s ‘Karagar,’ and Nuhash’s ‘Shaw’ to recently released Amitabh Reza’s ‘Bodh’. The veteran actor has garnered praise for each of his recent works.

Meanwhile, Afsana Mimi will mark her ‘hoichoi’ debut with the most anticipated web-series ‘Mohanagar 2’ releasing April 20.
